The social media have continued to increase the popularity of some individuals and organizations over the years. Some individuals have a massive fans base on various social media handle or platform.
Others are still struggling to increase their fans base across all social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, weChat, WhatsApp, Instagram and others.
Few minutes ago, Chelsea took to their official Instagram account to announce that the club have reached thirty million followers on Instagram.
This places Chelsea ahead of the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspurs, AC Milan, inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and Napoli on the list of European football clubs with the highest number of fans on Instagram.
Chelsea's champions league win last season played a major role to help the club reach that milestone. Chelsea have about 27.1 million fans on Instagram before the Champions League final. Just four months after that victory, the club fans base increased by almost three million followers.
This means Chelsea are now the 6th European club with the highest number of followers on Instagram. They are behind the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United and Liverpool
