Valentine Odoh's Brace Sinks Akwa United In Uyo

Nigeria professional football league outfit, Abia Warriors, ended it's week long training tour on a high with a back to back win against Uyo based topflight league duo of Dakkada and Akwa United.

After a convincing (1-0) win against Dakkada on Wednesday courtesy of Cletus Emotan goal, the Coach Imama Amapakabo tutored side lined up against current Nigeria professional football league defending champions, Akwa United on Thursday afternoon.

Abia Warriors were the first to draw the first blood in the keenly contested fixture, Abia Warriors new boy, Valentine Odoh, reacted the quickest to tap in his previous effort which Wass parried to his way by Akwa United goalkeeper, Dele Ajiboye.

All efforts by the Coach Kennedy Bobye tutored Akwa United side to draw level before the half time break was futile as the Umuahia warlords held on to their lead back to the locker room.

On re-emergence for the second half, the host, Akwa United took the fight to the opponents half but didn't have anything to show as the Abia Warriors defence line marshalled by experienced Markson Ojobo maintained it's cool to rebuff all that was huffed and puffed at them by the rampaging Akwa United side.

Abia Warriors striker, Valentine Odoh, completed his brace and doubled the Abia Warriors side lead at 67th minute as he dived low to head home from inside the opponents Six-yard box.

All pressure by the host to reduce deficit proved abortive till the final whistle.
