Ralf Rangnick has now confirmed earlier reports that Chelsea approached him over replacing Frank Lampard as Chelsea boss. According to the German tactician, who is also known to be a huge influence on Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, he rejected the chance to become Chelsea boss because he was only offered a 4-month contract.
Rangnick told The Times of his negotiations with Chelsea: “I said: ‘I would like to come and work with you, but I can’t do it for four months. I’m not an interim coach.”
AC Milan glory days are still fresh in people’s memories. Ragnarick grew up studying sacchi’s team so he will be very excited to “follow” in his mentor’s foot steps. He also wants “wenger” control of who we buy and coach them, and that is the offer. So this isn’t strange at all
Pretty sure he started the run of games following the comments and was building positive momentum that continued into Tuchels tenure. The difference is narrative, nothing else.
