Arsenal belong in the top 4 not the top 8, their transfer has been good, but they can do more

So far this summer, Arsenal have done some great business, and it is worth commending. They have signed Odegaard (22), White (23), Lokonga (21) and Tavares (21). Targeted Maddison (24) and Aouar (23). This is a clear sign that the club is prioritising a younger profile of players, and the fact that they have learnt from last summer.

It is practically normal that Arsenal fans are frustrated with the club and should normally express that (constructively), but if fans are going to do that, they should also recognise when the club is doing good stuff as well. There are clearly no "big names" at Arsenal at the moment, but the club’s strategy is clear and the right one to have.

In order to be able to achieve these set goals and make this season a memorable one for the Gunners, the players must look at the little mistakes they made on the opening day of the season, and pick up from there. Although it is football, but a club like Arsenal shouldn’t be losing to clubs like Brentford. There is a stark difference in the quality of both teams, and you’d easily expect the North London side to beat their West London counterparts.

The first plan to making this season a formidable one is to aim at being in 3rd position after Christmas. Then in the January transfer window, get a player like Aouar and a proper right back to consolidate the squad, in order to finish the season strongly  and end up in the top 4. That is the barest minimum, and if this can be achieved, shouldn’t be a problem fighting for the top 2.

This season, there will be no more excuses for Mikel Arteta as the club would have given him all the tools required to take them a notch above where they have been these last few years. Arsenal do not belong in the top 8, they belong in the top 4, and their constant retrogression in the scheme of things is further pushing the club to the mid table rather than to the top 4.

What the club needs are young hungry players, who can play their hearts out and can do it consistently over a stretch of time. This is exactly what is needed at Arsenal, and they have to get them for good value as well, nothing short of that.

There is no doubt that It’s been a good transfer window so far, and the club is laying a good foundation for what Mikel Arteta can build upon. Taking away the misery of seeing a club of Arsenal’s standing, wasting away in mid table in unacceptable. They have done great business this year, but there is still more to do.
