Two Popular Football Tricks Invented By African Players

1. The Blind Pass:

Algerian football legend Lakhdar Belloumi spent majority of his club football career playing in Algeria. An attacking midfielder, he is regarded by many as Algeria's greatest ever player and won the African Player of the Year award in 1981.

Belloumi is credited with inventing the "blind pass" which is also known as the "no look pass." This football trick happens when a player passes the ball to a teammate while looking in an opposite direction, so as to confuse the opponents.

2. The Okocha Turn:

Considered one of the best dribblers in the world, it is no surprise that Okocha's name appears here. The Nigerian was known for performing several football tricks including the rainbow flick, which he helped popularize. However, the one he is credited with inventing is known as the Okocha Turn.

This football trick happens when the player rolls the ball with his boot studs and pretends to play the ball in a different direction but continues in the same direction, leaving the opponents totally confused.
