Zinedine Zidane Has Explained Exactly Why He Left Real Madrid In An Open Letter To The Fans- Details

The Former Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidaine recently wrote an open letter, explaining why he decided to leave the Santiago Bernabeu last week.

Zinedine Yazid Zidane, popularly known as Zizou, is a French professional football manager and former player who was most recently the coach of Real Madrid.

Recall that the 42 year old having won the the UEFA champions league treble with Madrid back then in 2016, 2017, and 2018 as well as the La Liga title in 2019, left the Los Blancos. He came back once again and finished off the 2020/2021 season trophy-less.

However, having left the Santiago Bernabeu for the second time, the Frenchman released an open letter to the fans, explaining his sudden decision to leave Real Madrid.

As published by AS news, a legitimate news outlet in Spain, Zidaine said:

‘’For more that 20 years, from the first day I arrived in Madrid and wore the white shirt, you’ve been shown me your love. I’ve always felt that there was something special between us. I’ve had the enormous honor of being a player and a coach of the greatest club ever, but above all, I’m just another Madrid fan. For all the reasons I wanted to write this letter, to say goodbye to you and explain my decision to leave the coaching job. ‘’

Zidane Further expresses that he decided to leave not because he is tired of coaching , but because he feels the club no longer has faith in him. ‘’ I felt the team needed a new approach to stay at the very highest level. Right now, things are different. I’m leaving because I feel the club no longer has the faith in me I need, nor the support to build something in the medium or long term ‘’
