2 Things The NFF Needs To Correct In Order To Avoid Another Defeat In Their World Cup Qualifiers

Central African Republic (CAR) are ranked 124th on the FIFA rankings as compared to Nigerian National team that is ranked 32nd. A 1 - 0 loss to them on homesoil was embarrassing and in this article, I have spotted out some measures that can be taken to avoid such losses. Please read down.

1. They should use standard pitch for their matches

The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State is a preferred pitch that can be used by the Super Eagles whenever they have matches to play because of it's artificial turf which is similar to what Nigerian players in Europe use. The Teslim Balogun Stadium is not preferable at all for international matches because of it's local turf. The NFF should see that this is changed with immediate effect.

2. They should sack Gernot Rohr

German coach, Gernot Rohr has tried with the Super Eagles so far, although his highest achievement is the third place medal he won with them back at the 2019 CAF AFCON. He has also done a good job in recruiting a good team for the national team, a team that comprises of Kenneth Omeruo, Alex Iwobi, Taiwo Awoniyi, Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong and Samuel Chukwueze. But as at now, he needs to leave the team and make way for a new coach that will come and use these players and turn them into national stars, the same way nigerian teams of the 1990's and early 2000's played. His tactics are not working at all and NFF needs to pay him off and fire him for the good of the country.
