Tottenham were in a London derby action against Fulham at the Craven Cottage.
Jose Mourinho was looking to steer his side to a second consecutive victory in four days with the north London side having easily dispatched Burnley on Sunday.
The first half of the game saw Tottenham take a fortunate lead as Nigerian born defender Tosin Adarabioyp deflected a striker from Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli into the back of his own net . The away side would hold on to that lead at halftime with the intention of extending their lead in the second half.
Fulham greatly improved after the interval as they looked to get themselves on level terms in the game. They would however struggle to find a way past Tottenham's defensive line who stood well to hold on for a slim 1-0 Victory.
In the other game of the day, Everton also rag out victorious against relegation threatened West bromwich albion with a second half strife from in-form Brazilian winger Richarlison enough to see the Carlo Ancellotti's men temporarily move into the league's top 4.
Here's how the Premier league table looks like after Tottenham and Everton won
The league's top three remain the same although the same cannot be said for 4th place who have a newly placed team (Everton) in that position with West ham united, Chelsea and Liverpool drop to 5th, 6th and 7th places respectively while Tottenham also move into 8th place on the table.
