Nigerian star David Babajide Akintola was exceptional for Omer Erdogan led Hatayspor football club of Turkey on Tuesday night, as he guided them to a remarkable 3-1 home league victory over Genclerbirligi FC, in the week 36 of the Turkish Super Lig.
The Manchester United Academy product retained his spot in coach Omer Erdogan's first eleven, and he was able to impress, as he played a vital role in the team's victory.
Babajide started in the home team's attacking midfield alongside Mame Briam Diouf and Ruben Ribeiro, and the trio were superb for the host in the entertaining encounter.
The host opened scoring through Rayane Aabid in the 5th minutes, after receiving an assist from Aaron Salem Boupendza, to end the first half 1-0.
Mame Briam Diouf doubled the lead for the home team in the 51st minutes, after receiving an assist from Nigerian David Babajide, and Robert Piris netted a goal from Penalty kick for the away team to make it 2-1, before Mame Briam Diouf scored his second goal of the game in the 84th minutes, to end the match 3-1.
David Babajide was superb for the home team throughout the entirety of the game, and he was able to mark his excellent performance with a fine assist.
The victory over Genclerbirligi FC has now taken Omer Erdogan's Hatayspor football club the 5th spot in the Turkish Super Lig table with 57 points from 33 matches played.
