Mario Gotze Considering Retirement if Failed to Sign La Liga Contact
Mario Gotze has currently ended his second welcome back spell at Borussia Dortmund after the club has decided not to renew his contract again.
Top Europe clubs have been rumoured to secure the German's signature. Spanish outlu Atletico Madrid and French club Monaco have been linked to secure the signature of the 2014 World Cup winner, but Sevilla appear to be the most serious club that needs the player's signature.
Transfer expert Marc Behrenbeck explained the situation.
“We can report that the interest of Spanish club Sevilla has increased again,” said Behrenbeck. “There have been exchanges and inquiries about the deal.
“Sevilla will play in the Champions League next season and is therefore very interesting for Gotze, he added
“The only player to compete with him in their squad is Franco Vazquez, but he is almost at retirement age, 31-years-old. That would be a perfect option for Gotze.
“The rumours are not yet advanced, but there is a basic interest from Sevilla and I believe it will finally push through”
Gotze, 28, has never played for a team outside of Germany, making his appearance only for Borussia Dortmund and bitter rivals Bayern Munich.
