EVE 0-1 WHU: 2 Things Alex Iwobi Did Today That He Needs To Avoid Next Time To Improve His Game

Everton lost to West Ham United today at the Goodison Park. It wasn't the best of performances from Rafael Benitez' side as they failed capitalize from the chances they created.

After missing out on the Nigeria's World Cup qualifiers games, Alex Iwobi returned to Everton's squad. His return wasn't the one most Everton fans would have expected. Here are the two things Alex Iwobi did today that he needs to avoid next time if he wasn't to improve his game.

1. Playing Inaccurate Crosses

One quality that defines a winger is his passing accuracy, he'll have to be accurate for the striker to benefit from his cross. Alex Iwobi lacked that quality from what we saw in today's match, that's where he'll have to work heavily on. Everton could have had better chances of scoring if Alex Iwobi played more accurately today. Alex Iwobi wasn't the worst man on the pitch today but he still needs to improve on his passing accuracy to improve his game.

2. Staying Out Of Position

Alex Iwobi missed a glorious chance that would have given Everton the lead earlier in the match. The Super Eagles winger couldn't bury the ball into West Ham's goal. It was a tap in most wingers would have scored but Alex Iwobi failed to make any good use of those chances. He was out of position and was always no where near the ball.

Alex Iwobi has to positioned properly for his teammates to create chances for him to score. Rafael Benitez noticed his awful performance and had him taken off in the second half. With today's performance, Alex Iwobi could lose his place in Everton's starting lineup. Rafael Benitez could lose his trust in him if he continues with his current form.
