Transfer News: Done Deals, Chelsea To Put Osimhen's Move On Hold, Barca To Offer Dembele New Deal

Chelsea To Put Osimhen's Move On Hold

Chelsea are set to put a move for Napoli's Victor Osimhen on hold as they believe agreeing a deal for the Nigeria striker, 24, would be too difficult this summer, according to reports in Football Insider.

Chelsea’s focus in the off-season will be on clearing the decks and balancing the books, with Mauricio Pochettino expected to take the Stamford Bridge hot seat.

Napoli are expected to demand offers north of £100million in order to part with Osimhen following their Serie A title win this season. The Nigeria international has previously gone public to speak about his “dream” of playing in the Premier League – comments which put the likes of Chelsea and Man United on high alert.

Barca To Offer Dembele New Deal

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Barcelona have offered French winger Ousmane Dembele a new long-term contract that runs until 2028. Both parties are keen for Dembele to stay at Barcelona, but it seems the club want to secure his long-term future sooner rather than later, and are in a bit of a rush to tie him down, as Dembele’s release clause drops from €100m to just €50m in June and July of this year.

Manchester United still keen on Sommer

Manchester United are still interested in Yann Sommer, according to Christian Falk. There's a gentlemen's agreement between Bayern and Sommer that if Manuel Neuer will be back as number one, the club would allow the Swiss goalkeeper to leave in the summer. However, they would like to charge €8m for his services, the amount that they paid for him in January.
