Chelsea football club is the current Champion League winner and that was down to the effort made by the whole team but most importantly Ngolo Kante.
The combative midfielder was integral to Chelsea's champions league glory, and his efforts saw him crowned the man of the match on three consecutive matches.

However, whatever has a beginning, must surely have an end, that's how the saying goes, and it's applicable in Kante's scenario.
Going forward, Chelsea should start thinking about life without the world cup winner, and my reasons will be listed below.

(1) Age
Ngolo Kante is 30 years old, it could be said that he has passed his peak and that depends on how his body works. His current deal will expire on June 30, 2023.
Although, there was a report that discussion about a new deal will commence earnestly but a new deal or not won't change the fact that age will take its toll on him.
The 2020-2021 season saw an injury-prone Kante, and that could be down to his age, Thomas Tuchel had to be managing the player's minutes on the pitch but for how long will that continue.

The west Londoner should start scouting for players who have a similar quality with Kante, so they can enjoy a post Kante era.
(2) Recent form in Euros 2020

In the just-concluded Euros, we saw a rather quiet Kante. He played excellently well but it was not at the level he is known for.
Having managed his involvement at Chelsea, his form at the European Championships should be a thing of concern for the Blues.

Hopefully, he gets back to his best in the upcoming season but an ambitious team like Chelsea needs to start thinking about how the team would still perform well without Kante.
Let's hear your thoughts about this article.
