"Parking the Bus" Is Mikel Arteta copying Jose Morinho style of football?

Over the last couple of weeks, the Arsenal football club has made a significant improvement in their style of football, all thanks to their new manager Mikel Arteta, who is currently the youngest Premier League manager right now.

Arsenal FC snapped up Mikel Arteta from Manchester City FC, where he was Pep Guardiola's assistant coach following the sacking of their former coach Unai Emery after a subsequent series of losses. When Mikel Arteta took over Arsenal, they were ranked below 10th position in the league table, their form was deeply unpleasant, their style of play shocking coupled with the player's disconnection with the club's fanbase. The disconnection led to some of the club players pursuing to leave the club at the earliest transfer window. Players like shokdran mustafi and Granit Xhaxa were the objects of conflicts within the club fanbase due to their multitude of mistakes that have led to goals that cost the club some important wins.

But since the Premier League resumed after the temporary break due to the Coronavirus lockdown, one cannot deny the significant improvement in their style of play. Though they have suffered some losses mostly due to individual mistakes, their improvement under Mikel Arteta is still gleaming. But what is most noticeable about their development is their style of play against the big premier league teams. Arsenal which is usually known for its possessive style football is now adapting Jose Mourinho's style of play all known as "Parking the Bus". This was evident during their win against the two biggest clubs in England this past week, Liverpool FC and Manchester City FC. Stats from both games showed that Arsenal has encountered;

32 shots on target and has only conceded 1 goal.

Shoots; 8 shots and scored 4 goals with it.

with 31% ball Possession.

Winning matches with these types of stats will make someone question whether Mikel Arteta is copying Jose Mourinho's style of football? which he was famously known during his stint at Chelsea FC.
