Man Utd eye Kovacic
Chelsea have accepted that Mateo Kovacic is likely to leave the club this summer with Manchester United joining the growing list of clubs interested in signing him. The 29-year-old has been an important player for the Blues since joining from Real Madrid in 2018 but he is out of contract in the summer of 2024 and now looks extremely unlikely to agree an extension.
Manchester City are also believed to be very keen on Kovacic and have even opened talks with his camp, with the midfielder potentially replacing contract rebel Ilkay Gundogan at the Etihad.
PSG view Eagles star as replacement for Messi
Paris Saint-Germain believe Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise can be a replacement for Lionel Messi, according to Daily Mail. The Eagles star is being linked with a number of Premier League sides but could end up in Ligue 1 with PSG showing strong interest. The Parisians are preparing for the departure of Messi in the summer and drawing up a shortlist to fill in the vacancy.
Newcastle to once again move for Maddison
Newcastle United have once again rekindled their interest in Leicester City's James Maddison, according to The Telegraph. In the previous summer, Newcastle saw their £50 million offer get rejected by the Foxes but this time they are more optimistic as the player will have a year left in his contract after June 2023. However, the competition to sign him will be more as other Premier League outfits are plotting to get Maddison's services.
Abada ‘really happy’ at Celtic despite transfer speculation
Liel Abada insists he is “really happy” at Celtic and vowed to ignore transfer speculation to focus on the domestic treble. The 21-year-old winger, signed from Maccabi Petah Tikva in 2021, has not always been a regular starter under Ange Postecoglou this season.
Portuguese favourite Jota and Japan attacker Daizen Maeda have often been preferred, and Abada has been linked with a move to the likes of Southampton, Ajax and Benfica.
Abada, who is contracted to 2026, has played well enough to be nominated for the PFA Scotland young player of the year award for the second successive season.
