Chelsea won the UEFA Super Cup after Kepa saved two shots

Chelsea won the UEFA super cup on Wednesday 11th of August, 2021 with a 6 - 5 penalty shootout victory over Villarreal FC at Belfast stadium.

Hakim Ziyech scored the first goal in the 27th minute giving Chelsea the lead in the first half. Ziyech was later substituted due to shoulder injury and Christian Pulisic took his place.

After some crossbar misses for Villarreal, Gerard Moren equalized in the 73rd minute.

Chelsea ultimately triumphed on penalties with 6 - 5 success due to the surprise move made by theChelsea manager. Tuchel substituted Eduard Mendy bringing in Kepa Arrizabalaga in the second period of the extra time.

Kepa denied a pair of kicks including stopping Albiol's shot to clinch the victory

Pulisic, Mount and Rudiger were among the successful penalty takers for the blues.

It was a very nice and interesting moment for the blues as they celebrate their victory.
