Chelsea football club of England continue their impressive run of form since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel. Prior to their match against Sheffield United on Sunday evening , the Blues have played three games recording three clean sheets, three goals scored, two wins and seven points in the process. 11min: Chilwell went shoulder to shoulder with Basham defending an early cross and Basham went to ground. penalty was the call, but VAR overruled with offsides.
22min: Chelsea were getting the ball further up the pitch with a little more ease than earlier, but were still unable to competently create chances on goal at the moment. Sheffield united defending very well so far.
25min: Chelsea best moments thus far look to come from Giroud coming deep to flick on to create a quick attack, but unfortunately some heavy touches and Sheffield’s resolute compact positioning were proving to be too much at that moment.
28min: chilwell fired in a low cutback that worked itself through traffic, but Chelsea were unable to latch onto the deflection to get a shot on goal. Chelsea recycled and earned a corner that Chilwell took, but waa cleared by Bryan. attacking moment ends with a Rudiger long shot wide on goal.
36min: Kovacic with a beautiful ball to release Chilwell down the left, who cut it back to Mount who hit it low. unfortunately Kovacic’s ball to Chilwell was ruled offside.
38min: Kovacic continued to run the midfield and found Chilwell free whose cross deflected for a corner. Chilwell’s corner was hit initially by Mcburnie and Chelsea recollected posession. Rudiger had a pop but his shot is deflected.
39min: Chilwell had another cross deflected out for a corner. Chilwell’s corner was actually taken short to Werner who laid it off to Mount... and apparently there were no plan as Sheffield easily won the ball back.
43min: goal Mount!! Chilwell released Werner down the left who cut it back to Mount in the center of the box to side foot it far post! 1-0 Chelsea!
45min: +1 additional minute announced.
Half time: chelsea were up 1-0 at half-time, with Mason Nount’s goal separating the two sides.
Second half: no changes and Sheffield united kicked it off.
53min: Chelsea won the ball back high up the pitch through Christensen, who played it to Giroud who did well to flick on to Mount, but Mount’s attempt on goal was deflected and easily grabbed by Ramsdale.
55min: Rudiger own goal. 1-1. Rudiger didn't look up and passed backwards to Mendy who was moving off the line to collect.
56min: Werner went down trying to round Ramsdale, and it looked like Ramsdale took Werner out. But the referee ruled thst it is not a penalty.
57min: a minute later, the referee decided to take a look at it on the monitor and agreed with VAR that it is a penalty.
58min: Jorginho scored the penalty to make it 2-1 for Chelsea!
60min: Reece James cut on to his left foot and had a shot that is fired high and wide.
61min: Chelsea subs: Giroud and Chilwell off. Hudson-odoi and alonso on.
Sheffield subs: Burke off. Mcgoldrick on.
69min: Sheffield united sub: Bryan off Sharp on
71min: Norwood with a threatening set piece delivery that Rudiger got a header on to clear.
75min: Fleck dribbled through multiple Chelsea players, firing a shot towards goal, but Rudiger did amazingly well with a slide tackle that ricocheted off Fleck for Chelsea goal kick.
76min: Chelsea sub: Werner off Kante on.
82min: Kante dribbled into the box and laid it off to mount whose chipped ball is very poor and Ramsdale collected.
86min: Sheffield united sub: norwood off Brewster on.
90min: Christensen did very well to get a header on a dangerous cross and hit it out for a throw in, from which Sheffield were unable to create a shot on goal from. 5 additional minutes.
90+2min: Sheffield have a dead ball opportunity which deflects out to Brewster who has two shots on goal blocked from Rudiger! Sheffield recycle possession and Chelsea defended well again with Mendy claiming a high cross. Rudiger is down on the pitch after colliding with mendy.
