How Gabriel Jesus Can Improve Arsenal’s Attack As A Player That Can Play In More Than One Position

Gabriel Jesus has managed to pull off good goal-scoring performances in the course of Arsenal’s preseason. According to “ManchesterEveningNews”, Gabriel Jesus was used by Guardiola as a winger at Manchester City. In the course of this article, we will be analysing how he can improve Arsenal’s attack as a player that can play in more than one position.

Gabriel Jesus Can Play As A Left Winger

One way Gabriel Jesus can boost Arsenal's attack is by bringing his goal-scoring quality to other positions up front. Speaking of which: the left wing will be a good start. According to a publication in “ManchesterEveningNews”, Gabriel Jesus told Journalists that he was comfortable in the wing position. He iterated that he played on the flank for the National team and in the first team of Palmeiras.

Back in his playing days with Manchester City, he had the capacity to attack into space, make a pass or attempt to shoot.

According to “Marca”, Gabriel Jesus scored 95 goals in 236 appearances. Come to think of it, he scored most of these goals coming off the bench and also playing from the wings.

If he can bring in this quality, he can be a boost to Arsenal’s attack from the flank position. The best possible lineup that can accommodate Gabriel Jesus on the left wing will be; Gabriel Jesus(right), Nketiah(centre forward), and Bukayo Saka(right wing)

Gabriel Jesus Can Also Play As Right Winger

Another interesting position that Gabriel Jesus can help inject quality into is the right wing. In an eventuality where Nicolas Pepe, Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos, and Bukayo Saka are not available, he can do justice to bringing in quality to that position. The major difference between Gabriel Jesus on the right wing and on the left is that: on the right, he will be more of a direct runner, while on the left, he will be looking to cut inside at all times.

It is important to note the Brazilian forward has proven that he has the capacity to fit in seamlessly at Arsenal. He has shown with his performances in the preseason that he is a natural fit for the kind of high-tempo game that Arteta plays.

He Has The Capacity To Become The Best Traditional Centre Forward At Arsenal

Looking at the calibre of forwards in Arsenal, and given the departure of Aubameyang and Lacazette, Gabriel is the go-to guy for the centre-forward job. He can do the job so nicely because he has good goal statistics to show for it. According to “Marca”, the Brazilian scored 95 goals for Manchester City. Imagine how threatening the Arsenal attack will look, if he replicates this quality in coming years?

Other than being a traditional forward that sits up on the pitch and waits for balls to be given to him, he can be the Firmino kind of player. Gabriel Jesus can drop into the midfield and demand passes for link-up play.

If Gabriel Jesus is used as a centre forward by Arteta, the best probable lineup of the front three will include; Martinelli (left wing), Gabriel Jesus (centre forward), and Bukayo Saka (right wing).
