Why Oshoala Deserves Another African Footballer Of The Year Award

Asisat lamina Oshoala is no doubt one of the finest Women Football Players in Africa. After making her statements in the Nigeria National Team since 2014, she's been pushing on graceful and her achievement is there for all to see.

After winning treble with Barcelona feminine Team in 2020/21 season, Oshoala became the first African Player to win Women's UEFA Champions League title and also the first African to score in the final. Winning the Champions League, Supacoppa and the Copa del la Reina was a feat that looked hard to achieve since no African before now had achieved but the Nigerian Striker was an integral part of the winning team even when she was down with series of injuries

Since Asisat joined Barcelona feminine Team in 2019, she's been up and running and it's been great for her CV. Her numbers for last season also reflected how focused and determined she is to win more laurels. Her only goal for Barcelona against Man City Women in the quarter final 2nd leg of the women's UEFA Champions League will remain in the heart of many. She scored 22 goals and 3 assists for Barcelona last season, contributing over a big percentage of goals to Barcelona feminine victorious outing last Season which was historical to the Spanish Giant side.

Oshoala is already 6 goals up in the League this season after a tremendous 4 games Outings under new Coach, Jonatan Giraldez. She's even been holding it well for Barcelona from the midfield to the attacking role, playing most games in great composure and intermediary between the middle of the field and forward.

She's behind Alexia Putellas by just 1 goal which is not far fetched as long as she gets playing times.

In merit, Oshoala has won the African Footballer Of The Year 4 times. Winning it the historic 5th time will not be a huddle to scale for the hardworking Striker, who currently holds the honour. For the Super Falcons, Oshoala has scored 29 goals in the green and white shirt since she was called up for National duties. The 3 time African Champions who doesn't look 26 years old will play more years for Nigeria and whichever Club side she stars for.

It will surely be well if she lay her hands on this award for the 5th time as no other Footballer come close for the time covered. The year 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019 may be crowned by another award in 2021 for Asisat Oshoala who has exported her country to the rest of the world.

What and who do you think can stop her from winning the laurel this year? She was African pride in Europe last season and mentioning her name for the award again this year will add honour to Nigeria and her CV. Follow for more women football stories.
