Meet Cameron, Peter Okoye's Son Who Plays For Barca Academy And Have 100k+ Followers On Instagram

It's not everyday you see a Nigerian celebrity whose child also seems to be making it big in his own right. Then enters Cameron Okoye, the son to one of the twin brothers of the now-defunct P-Square group, Peter Okoye. Not only does Cameron have a relatively huge following on social media, he also seems to be charting a great future for himself as he is a player at the prestigious academy of one of football's greatest clubs, Barcelona Football Club.

While his dad can surely be said to be a celebrity who has paid his dues in the Nigerian music industry, the younger Okoye can be said to be forging a way forward and paying his dues as well, especially when one considers the fact that he is in the process of making names for himself in one of the most popular sports in the world, football and where better to receive footballing education than the La Masia of FC Barcelona where he was signed as one of their proteges?

Apart from that, it is also worthy of note that Cameron, who only clocked 12 some months ago can also be said to be a star and celebrity on his own accord especially with the relatively huge following he commands on Instagram. Over a hundred thousand followers on Instagram is not a mean feat especially for a young man in the making, who will only get better in his chosen career path.

But how did Cameron get so good at football to the extent that he was recognized by a club of Barcelona stature and signed on to their feeders club? The answer to that question might simply lie in the fact that his dad, Peter and his twin brother, Paul were also believed to be so good at football and in an interview, had claimed that they've always seen football as their plan B, especially if their music career had not worked out the way they had hoped it would.

The young Cameron might just be getting started but his heroics on the football pitch has often made his father proud, and he sure doesn't get tired of waxing lyrical about how proud he is of his son. In a tweet on his verified Twitter handle some months ago, the older Okoye had been elated with the recognition of his son by La Liga and Bernard Collignon, a top FIFA licensed agent that he said his retirement plan could be loading.

With the young talent getting it right on the football pitch as evidenced by many of his photos and videos on his verified Instagram page, his stars would only rise higher and with him commanding the sort of social media presence that he does, such huge followings would only grow bigger and bigger in years to come and we hope he'd be one of those who would bring joy and pride to her fatherland on the football pitch.
