Ben Chilwell Suffered an ACL injury during the match up against Juventus in the Champions League. ACL injury is one of the worst injury that a player could have, it happens when the tissue that connects the thighbone to the shinbone, at the knee is torn. Ben Chilwell will be out of the squad for some while, he could be out till the end of the season if it's more serous.
Thomas Tuchel will be relying on Marcos Alonso in the left wing back position, but there should be a player to compete with Marcos Alonso. Cesar Azpilicueta played as a left wing back on Tuesday but he wasn't as productive as he is from the right. Saul Niguez played as a left wing back few times at Atletico Madrid, the Spaniard could over for Ben Chilwell and would be an alternative to marcos Alonso.
Saul Niguez has a good left foot, he'll definitely deliver crosses and create chances of scoring for his teammates from the left hand side. He'll have the pace to track back to the defense when dispossessed, that's the one quality Marcos Alonso lacks. Saul Niguez will definitely take his chances, he won't get much playing time in the midfield position as Thomas Tuchel already has players he can rely on.
Chelsea's next opponent is Manchester United, Jadon Sancho will be on the left wing and Saul Niguez should be the right man to stop him. Jadon Sancho will easily get beyond Marcos Alonso with his pace and dribbling skills. Thomas will have to make Saul Niguez a left wing back or he'll turn to the January transfer window to sign a left back on loan till Ben Chilwell gets back.
