La Liga

See how fans made mockery of Lionel Messi and Barcelona for losing the league title to Real Madrid

Barcelona rounded up an unsuccessful La Liga title defence with a dismal 2-1 loss at the Nou Camp against a 10 men Osasuna.Heading into the game, Barce needed just a win and to wish Madrid fails to get all 3 points when they face Villareal to still afford a chance for a final day challenge. With an injured Antoine Griezmann not in the squad and Luis Suarez starting on the substitutes' bench, Quique Setien's side looked bereft of ideas against their spirited visitors. With more than 80℅ possession, the Blaugrana side did not know what to do with the ball, and the static players up front did not help.

Osasuna came to the Camp Nou with a plan, and they executed it perfectly by putting ten men behind the ball and waiting for an opening.

Jose Arnaiz drilled a ball into the bottom corner from 12 yards out after a neat counter attack down the left from the visitors, to give Osasuna an early lead. Barcelona struggled to make out anything from the match and Messi had a freekick hit the cross bar. But he wasn't to be denied the second time from the set piece just after the restart, right curling a sublime effort past Herrera in the Osasuna goal. The visitors were reduced to 10 men with 15 minutes left, Enric Gallego shown a straight red for landing an elbow on Clement Lenglet.

Away at the capital, Madrid already had the title secured so it was more or lessess a fancy matn for me Everton, but it was the visitors who pounced late on with Roberto Torres capping a fine counter attack deep into inuury time to seal the win.

Barce led by 2 points at the restart, but 3 draws and the loss tonight allowed Madrid open up an insurmountable 7 point lead at the top of the table going into the final game of the season. It was a terrible performance on the night that sums up Barcelona's campaign and they definitely don't deserve to finish anywhere better than they did. The title is back at the Capital after two consecutive years at Catalonia, this is how the fans have been reacting to it.
