'Ronaldo is the greatest player of all time' - Gary Neville

Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville has been quick to hail his former teammate as the greatest to ever graced the game, though his fellow pundit, Jamie Carragher disagreed with his views.

According to the Right back, Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest player of all time with the praising his former colleague ahead of arch rival Lionel Messi.

The 36-year-old made an excellent comeback over the weekend, scoring a brace on his second debut for the Old Trafford side in their 4-1 Premier League win over Newcastle.

Now, Gary Neville has hailed the Portugal captain as the greatest to ever graced the game. He insisted that Ronaldo’s flexibility as a goalscorer and the skills he possesses is superior to that of Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi.

He stated on Monday while on Sky Sports that: "Look, there's no doubt that Messi's scored an obscene amount of goals. He's a ridiculous player.

"But Ronaldo has scored probably 30 or 40 per cent more with his wrong foot and he's scored more penalties. So it just took me to a point where he was more complete in terms of the most important part of the game," he added.

"The thing that tips it over the edge even more is that international record, of the most international goals ever. The fact that Ronaldo has won five Champions Leagues with different teams that aren't even as good as Messi's team is another," he concluded.
