Chelsea and Nigeria-eligible midfielder, Tariq Uwakwe has joined new club ahead of next season. The young creative left footed midfielder joins Accrington Stanley on loan for 2020-21 season.
Though the 20-year-old is of Nigeria root but he was a member of the England Under-18 age group that won the Toulon Tournament with the Young Lions in 2017.
Chelsea released an official statement on their website to announce Uwakwe's loan move away from the club.
"Tariq Uwakwe has today completed a season-long loan move to Accrington Stanley," the club stated.
"Uwakwe will spend the 2020/21 campaign at the Crown Ground following a season in which he featured 11 times for our development squad as they were crowned Premier League 2 champions. It will be his first taste of senior football."
