Chelsea has had a near perfect start to the season. The Blues have won 4 out of their first five games in all competitions this season. They are currently on 10 points in the premier league and have won their first champions league game of the season.
No doubt, Chelsea has one of the strongest squads in the world right now. The only player they missed out from signing last summer was Kounde. Despite this, Chelsea has five quality players who can play the same position.
Chelsea however needs to keep hold of their players. There are about 6 players whose contracts will end at the end of the season. They include skipper Azpilicueta, Lewis Baker, Rudiger, and Others. Chelsea however has offered contracts extension to 3 of their players and the deals should be completed in the following weeks.
Andreas Christensen has improved a lot at Chelsea and he is seen as the perfect replacement for Thiago Silva. His contract at Chelsea ends this season but Chelsea has already offered him a new four-year deal. According to reports, talks have reached the final stages and he should sign the deal before the end of the month.
The other two players who have been offered contract extensions are Chalobah and Rudiger. While Chalobah is ready to extend his contract with Chelsea, Rudiger's deal is experiencing some hiccups. According to reports, the German defender wants to stay but he is not satisfied with the salary offered to him. Chelsea are offering him a new 4 or 5 years deal. Once the salary issues get resolved, he is expected to extend his contact with Chelsea as the club cannot let him leave for free.
