The UEFA Champions League is the biggest football club competition in the world, it is the coming together of the best-performing football clubs in Europe. Every professional football player wants to play in this tournament because many people watch it.
The first week of the UEFA Champions League has come and gone, some Nigerian footballers took part in it, but it was the first time for these footballers.
1. Arnaut Danjuma
Villarreal faced Atalanta in a 4 goal thriller and Arnaut was with the Spanish side. This is the first time he played in the UEFA Champions League, as Villarreal bought him from AFC Bournemouth, an English Championship side.
He was born in Lagos to a Nigerian mum and Dutch dad in 1997 and was on the scoresheet once, even though the match ended 2-2.
2. Junior Chukwubuike Adamu
He was born in Kano in 2001 to Nigerian parents and is eligible to represent Nigeria internationally. He has the Nigerian flag on his Instagram page.
The striker currently plays for Red Bull Salzburg, and he made his Champions League debut this week when they faced Sevilla.
