One Player Tuchel Could Deploy As A Striker As Lukaku And Werner Are Injured

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is expecting Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner to be facing spells on the sidelines after both forwards picked up injuries in the 4-0 win over Malmo in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Blues may need to find more unusual goal scorers with Lukaku and Werner joining Christian Pulisic among the walking wounded.

Thomas Tuchel could deploy Kai Havertz as a striker following the injuries of Timo Werner and Lukaku. Havertz has a better knack of picking out teammates when playing higher up the pitch, using his strength to bring others into play.

The German has played better at a central attacking midfield role as most of his goal involvements have come from that position.

Lukaku suffered an ankle injury on the 20-minute mark after a rash tackle from Malmo defender Lasse Nielsen in the penalty box, while Werner went down clutching his right hamstring after making a burst towards goal just before half-time.
