The Nigeria's Basketball team, D'Tigers, have been dumped out of the ongoing Olympics in Tokyo Japan. The D'Tigers lost to the Italian side earlier yesterday. The implication of the lost is that the D'Tigers have been sent out of the 2021 Olympic games in Tokyo Japan.
The Nigeria's men Basketball team, D'Tigers had lost their first two group games. The first game was against Australia. The second game was against the German side. The team is eliminated out of the competition as they gathered no point in their three group games.
Australia will play Germany in their last group game. Australia tops the Group's table as they won their first two games against Nigeria and Italy respectively. On the other hand, Germany had won Nigeria but lost to Italy. Both Italy and German side have won one game each.
It should be emphasised that no African basketball team had won a medal in any Olympics. It was expected that the D'Tigers will break that. The team got the attention of Nigerians and beyond when they beat USA and Argentum during the friendlies.
