Two Abilities That Make Emile Smith Rowe One Of The Most Difficult Players To Defend Against

Arsenal's Emile Smith Rowe is currently getting the praises and adoration he deserves at the Emirates Stadium. A graduate of Arsenal's famous Hale End Academy, the young English midfielder is starting to make his mark at the club.

In his last game for the Gunners against Aston Villa last Friday, Emile Smith Rowe was one of the best players on the pitch and was rightly awarded the man of the match award after scoring a goal and providing an assist.

In this article, two abilities that make Emile Smith Rowe one of the most difficult players to defend against in the Premier League will be discussed.

1. Combination Of Height And Footwork: Emile Smith Rowe is quite tall for an attacking midfielder. According to transfermarkt, the Englishman stands at a height of 1.82 metres which is approximately (6 feet). He has the height to compete with tall defenders and also the footwork to make it difficult to defend against him.

Physical defenders find it easier to play against short and technical midfielders but luckily for Smith Rowe, he is quite tall.

2. Turning And Dribbling At Pace: Emile Smith Rowe is most dangerous when he is running with the ball. His ability to turn quickly and dribble at pace makes it harder for defenders to take the ball off him. Most times, the defenders have to commit fouls to stop him from going further into the danger zones.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher had this to say about Emile Smith Rowe. "Emile Smith Rowe is the best player in the Premier League running with the ball".

This is exactly what sets Emile Smith Rowe apart from other attacking midfielders. Watching him, he is very fast when on the ball.

Emile Smith Rowe is endearing himself to the Arsenal fans and he would surely be hoping it continues that way.
