This was the first El-Clasico after many years that neither Messi nor Ronaldo will participate as Ronaldo had joined Juventus at the start of the season while Messi was injured. However, Barcelona won the game comfortably as Luiz Suarez scored a hat trick. Philippe Coutinho and Aleix Vidal were the other goal scorers for Barcelona while Marcelo pulled one back for Real Madrid.
