Why The Argentina Match Against Brazil Was Suspended

After their match played against each other in the Copa America final, the two countries met again for the 2022 world cup qualifiers. The two teams are not too friendly with each other, which is understandable because the two countries are the big names in its continent, and there have been rivalry and friendship shared between the two countries over the years, like that of Messi and Neymar.

Today the two teams met for the world cup qualifiers match which will determine which teams are to be chosen to play in the world cup. After close to ending the first half the game was suspended.

The game was suspended when the Brazilian health authorities stormed the pitch to detain some players for going against the Covid-19 protocols. They stormed the field to detain Emiliano Martinez, Giovanni Lo Celso, and Cristian Romero. They were detained for allegedly breaking the Covid-19 protocols, they were ordered to be quarantined before the match between the two South- American football giants.
