VAR And Referee Decisions That Went Against EPL Team In Match Day 3 Of The UCL

The English Premier League teams playing in this season UEFA Champions League Competition have been impressive from the match day one to match say 3 and let's take a look at some VAR and Referee decisions that went against the Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool in match day 3.

Club Brugge Vs Manchester City

Manchester City are one of the best team in this season UEFA Champions League. The club have been impressive this season with more than 9 goals in 3 games. City defeated Club Brugge by 5-0 away from home on Tuesday's UCL night.

The Video Assistant Referee and the Referee have been criticised ruling out Rodri's goal for offside. It was a wrong decision taken by the VAR and the Referee because Rodri and Laporte were onside before receiving the pass. The inconsistency of the Video Assistant Referee and the Referee needs urgent attention because their decisions are spoiling the fun of football.

Chelsea Vs Malmo

Chelsea bounced back to winning ways after defeating Malmo by 4-0 in the match day 3 of this season UCL at Stamford Bridge. Goals from Jorginho, Kai Havertz and Christensen gave Chelsea the total three points in the game.

The Video Assistant Referee and the Referee's decision not to sent off Malmo striker for a serious foul play on Romelu Lukaku should be questioned.

That was a career ending tackle on Romelu Lukaku and immediately after the incident, Lukaku could not continue the match and was replaced by Kai Havertz.

That should have been a straight Red Card for the defender because the challenge is from the back and it was a serious foul play.

Atletico Madrid Vs Liverpool

An entertaining match between Atletico Madrid and Liverpool in the match day 3 of the UEFA Champions League. Liverpool defeated ATM by 3-2 after and thanks to Mohamed Salah's second half penalty.

Atletico Madrid first goal should have been cancelled because Lemar was in an offside position and also in the ball direction.

The Video Assistant Referee refused to cancel the goal despite having a clear view of the incident.

Manchester United Vs Atalanta

Manchester United came from behind to defeat Atalanta by 3-2. It was a brilliant performance from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's boys who were Impressive in the second half of the game.

The inconsistency of the Video Assistant Referee and the Referee needs an urgent attention. Atalanta goal should have been ruled offside because the two players wee in offside position before receiving the pass.

The VAR made a wrong decision not to cancel the goal because a similar Incident happened against City and the goal was cancelled.

With these wrong decisions against English premier league teams this season, do you think any of them can reach the finals?
