Chelsea Should Stick With Their 3 French-born Defenders For EPL Games In The Absence Of Thiago Silva

Graham Potter switched to Back-three defense setup for the first time during Chelsea's Premier League game against Leeds United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The recent poor performance of the West London club made Graham Potter to tweak his tactics and field 3 Defenders at the back against Leeds United.

In the absence of Thiago Silva, the Former Brighton and Hove Albion Manager threw Chelsea French-born Defenders Kalidou Koulibaly, Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana into the starting lineup together for the first time.

Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile are French Nationals while Kalidou Koulibaly is the Captain of the Senegalese National team but, the Former Napoli Skipper was born in France and even made appearances for the Youth team of the France National team before he switched his allegiance to the Senegalese National team.

The trio of Benoit Badiashile, Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana were individually impressive against Leeds United on Saturday. Wesley Fofana recorded a 97 percent pass accuracy against Leeds United and won 3 aerial duels. He also recorded one interception and one clearance.

Benoit Badiashile was just Benoit Badiashile against Leeds United. The Frenchman hasn't put a foot in the wrong place since Chelsea signed him in January and he gave a brilliant performance against Leeds United on Saturday afternoon at Stamford. He made more successful ball recoveries than every Player on the Pitch on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

For Kalidou Koulibaly, the Senegalese National continued with his quest for redemption by dropping a great performance on Saturday. The Senegalese National has struggled in the last few months but his performance has continued to improve in his last few starts for Chelsea.
