Super Eagles defender celebrates first Bundesliga goal

There is this extra special feeling that comes with any good thing we do for the first time.

Even if people are using bigger cars presently, they still have fond memories of their first car, some will never forget their first trip outside Nigeria and many other things like that.

For football players, one of the things they keep track of is their goals.

It is thus not surprising to see Hoffenheim defender Kevin Akpoguma going over the moon after he scored his first-ever Bundesliga goal at the weekend.

Of course you know defenders don't score a lot of times so Akpoguma can be excused if chooses to celebrate this one goal even more than necessary.

The Nigeria international got the second goal in Hoffenheim’s 4-2 comeback win against Schalke 04 on Saturday.

The defender, who recently returned from injury rose high to head in a corner in the 52nd minute.

That goal was Akpoguma's first in 67 appearances in the German top-flight.

The German-born defender told his club website he is happy to break the drought and would definitely cherish it for a long time

" For me it was of course great to score the first Bundesliga goal after such a long time. I’ll let that sink in now – and then enjoy. ” the 26-year-old said

With the latest three points secured, Hoffenheim are now occupying the 11th on the table with 39 points from 32 matches.
