1. Saul Niguez.
At the moment, it's uncertain when Thomas Tuchel will bring Saul Niguez back into the side after his horror show against Aston Villa. The Chelsea boss threw Saul into the side last weekend against Villa but his performance was as poor as they come and he was withdrawn after just 45 minutes. With thr game against Tottenham coming up next, it's very unlikely that Tuchel uses him against a tricky Nuno Espirito Santo side. With that being said, Saul was at his best in training yesterday, he seems to be working on his communication on the pitch with his new teammates because that was what he lacked against Villa. Could see him on midweek against Villa in the Carabao Cup.
2. Trevor Chalobah.
Chalobah is slowly but steadily becoming a bench player at Chelsea. The 22 year old started the season like a house on fire and put in excellent displays in Chelsea's first two games. Since then, we've only seen him.make substitute appearance against Liverpool 3 weeks ago. What could the problem be? Nothing, just that Tuchel has a lot of centre back options at the moment that it would be hard to give everyone playing time. Chalobah was magnificent in training yesterday and is certainly giving Tuchel a 'food for thought' with his outstanding performances in training.
3. Kepa Arizabalaga.
Kepa Arizabalaga keeps making this list of mine every week and the reason is not so farfetched. For me, Kepa has been one of the best Chelsea players I training but the presence of Mendy has made it difficult for him to get regular playing time. Mendy is the strong favourite in the league and champions league, with Kepa taking FA Cup and Carabao Cup games. Well, Kepa would have to keep his calm because he might start in mid week for Chelsea in their Carabao Cup game. For now, the Tottenham game will be played by Mendy, unless anything we did not expect happens.
Here are some extra pictures from Chelsea's training session which took place at Stamford Bridge yesterday afternoon...
