FIFA Revealed Why Ballon D'Or Won't Be Awarded This Year.
According to the statement released by FIFA, Next year Ballon d'or won't be awarded due to the effect of Covid-19 pandemic round the world.
These will be the first time FIFA will cancelled Ballon d'or since 64-year ago, the effect on COVID-19 pandemic have stopped football for some months ago.
The Balloon d'or usually voted by journalists and it's monitored by the French magazine, it's an annual award given since 1956 to the world best male footballer.
The pandemic devastated the 2019-2020 season, with all the big European leagues postponed all their matches from March till June.
The last round of the champion's league have also been rescheduled as a mini-tournament in Portugal next month, from the quarter-finals onwards.
