United played host to Liverpool at Old Trafford in an EPL encounter over the weekend. The match however, turned out to be a torn in the flesh for the host and a moment of goals galore for the visitors.
It was so devastating and humiliating as the fans were treated to a shameful weekend as the host were down to a humbling five goals defeat.
The only response from United side, which came from the returnee, Christian Ronaldo, was disallowed as the goal was ruled out by VAR.
However, this is not the first time Manchester United has suffered such a home defeat to their visitors. During Champions Club encounter in 2018, United suffered a lost to Liverpool with a goal's margin of 1-4. Recently in May 2021, in an EPL encounter, United also suffered a home lost to Liverpool. The goal's margin stood at 2-4 in favor of the visitors.
This defeat once again has raised questions over United's defensive capabilities and also if their expensive talents can gel together as a squad.
Solskjaer however has reacted to his side's defeat over the weekend.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, he made it known that it's the darkest day he has ever had. This is his saying, " It's not easy to say something, apart from it's the darkest day I've had leading these players.
He referred to this defeat as his "darkest day" as manager of the club.
What do you make of Solskjaer's reaction to his team's defeat?
