There has been a lot of spectacular play this season in the Premier League, although it is pretty clear that there was no team worthy to give Liverpool a good league title challenge, likewise Manchester City who is comfortable sitting in second place in the league. One can say that this season ended with two giants proving to be the king of EPL. However, following how some events which ended the season, there is definitely going to be big rivals for the title next season, and every position will be tightly contested for next season.
Let me give you some small coincidence that just happened you may not have noticed. Liverpool the current Champion of Premier League, and Leeds United have a lot to explain here. In 1989-190 season, Liverpool FC won the first Division, and guess what, Leeds United also won the second division title. Now fast forward to 2019/2020 season, Liverpool also deals with all the big names in EPL to become the English Premier League winner, a historical title for them, the first-ever since the English top league was named Premier League. Oh no, it is happening again Leeds United also won the Championship and gained promotion back to the Premier League after 16 years of hard luck. That is not all.
Just like Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United may pose big problems too big teams next season, they may even be more competent to challenge for the title. A team with 3 English League titles, 1 League cup, 1 FA Cup, 2 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, and 2 Community/Charity shied cup, Leads United is definitely one of the big teams in Europe having reached the Champions League semi-finals and European Cup final, Leeds United may be back to reclaim their lost glory.
Another big rival that has gone through a transformation and will be coming back stronger next season is Arsenal under Mikel Arteta. The Gunners started flopping during the last days of their ex-coach Arsene Wenger. But was rescued and given the hope of finishing this season with at least a trophy for the last 5 years. Young Mikel Arteta won the two present strongest teams in England within a space of 3 days interval, and his ex-senior coach Pep Guardiola has asserted that Arteta his former junior coach at Etihad Stadium, can finally make Arsenal a League title contender again.
Frank Lampard's side, Chelsea has also undergone a great rehabilitation under Frank Lampard. The formal blues midfielder that took over the season this season with a transfer ban, has proven that once a soldier is always a soldier. With the little he had, losing Hazard to Real Madrid, he has taken Chelsea to the EPL top 3, and, brought them to the FA Cup semi-final, and has also kept the Blues hope high in the Champions League race. Chelsea under Frank Lampard may eventually become invisible next season.
Man United, Sheffield United and Wolves are not also left out. After the transfer windows and interchange of players, Man United are also going to be a tough contender for the Premier League title next year. But as for now, let us watch to the end, who will make it to the Champions League this season?
