Did Chelsea Make A Mistake By Bringing Lukaku Back To The Club?

No goals, no assists in his last seven games before the injury, did Chelsea make a mistake signing Romelu Lukaku back to the club?

After Tuchel appointment, earlier in the year, most of Chelsea games would end up with them winning by a goal margin (1-0), (2-1) and it was quite obvious that Chelsea needed a centre forward, Timo Werner was out of form, and Tuchel didn't prefer Tammy Abramham.

This is not me taking away any doubt from Lukaku quality, but maybe a team were the center forward was the main personal for goal scoring, would have been more suitable for a player like Lukaku.

The comparison between his time at Manchester United and Chelsea, and Inter Milan and Everton proves that. Lukaku wasn't favored at Manchester United, because every player could contribute to the goals, look at his time at Inter Milan, it was either Lukaku, or Martinez that scored majority of the goals.

Tammy Abraham, and Oliver Giroud are the perfect kind of strikers that excel at Chelsea, strikers who can drop deep, work for their own goal, and not strikers that sit up front waiting for service from the midfield.

Both Lukaku, and Werner were bought at hefty amounts, and while Chelsea can still recuperate some money Werner, should they want to sell him, Lukaku I don't think so.

Romelu Lukaku, would off course still score goals during his stay at Stamford Bridge, but I believe Thomas Tuchel should have kept more faith in Tammy Abraham, a Chelsea academy graduate, and who was still very young.

Take yesterday's game for example, without Lukaku and Timo Werner, Chelsea scored seven goals, with Lukaku and Werner, Chelsea haven't scored more than four goals this season, this just shows how Chelsea plays, every player can score.

If Chelsea were to keep up this goal scoring ability without Lukaku, or Werner, its going to put a lot of questions on both the coach, and fans mind, about the influence the two strikers have on the team.
