Chelsea hasn't been consistent this season after drawing three games, winning twice and losing to Liverpool in the Premier league this season. The problem with Lampard's men is still unclear after 6 round of games, as they've shown no difference in performance despite spending close to £300million this summer.
Chelsea signed the likes of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Chilwell, Mendy, Thiago Silva, and Hakim Ziyech but the team still lacks the chemistry needed to unleash their attackers. The game against Manchester United was a real evidence, as Chelsea managed just a shot on goal throughout 90minutes. Without doubt, Chelsea's new signings are of great quality, but it all seem like Lampard is getting it all wrong with his tactics.
However, Chelsea's next five games show Lampard could rewrite his story and make things better for them this season. This could be a crucial moment to the entire season and fans would just hope Lampard doesn't blow his chances. Chelsea's next games would be an engagement in different competitions. After the draw against Sevilla in their first Champions league game, Chelsea will be hoping to start with a win against Krasnodar.
Lampard's men will play Burnley in their next Premier league game as well and that should be win for the Blues against a Burnley side that has been struggling this season. Burnley hasn't win a game this season and it shouldn't be any different against a star-studded Chelsea side.
Another Champions league home game against French side Rennes should be a win for the Blues. Mendy would be glad to play against is former club, though they really won't need his help to edge past Rennes in their third Champions league game.
Chelsea would then host Sheffield United who is looking out for their first win of the season. After a good campaign last term, Sheffield is really struggling this term to make a mark and if things continue this way, they probably could end up relegated.
However, Chelsea would face a tough test against a Newcastle side who has got a good home record against Chelsea. Regardless, Chelsea still remains favourite to clinch a win in that fixture. Check out the dates of Chelsea's next five games in the pictures below:
