￼In what seems as one of the most controversial news, annoying and disappointing to fans and the football world in general, the 2020 ballon d'or selection has been cancelled by the French outlet responsible for the prestigious award.
Just when fans were getting excited about a high rated striker, Robert Lewandowski who plays for Bayern Munich, winning the award and it was cancelled. This has left many football fans and supporters of Lewandowski to react angrily to the decision, saying Robert Lewandowski was intentionally robbed of the prestigious award.
Note that the spanish outlet responsible for the award stated that the grounds for deciding the winner was not met to the break brought about by the Corona Virus pandemic which shut down football activities for over three months.
But during the course of this season, Bayern Munich's legendary striker has been doing exploits. Lewandowski scored a total of 58 goals this season for club and country and has been tipped by football lovers to win the most important individual award. The cancellation has led to the bitter reaction of his fans as they expected him to grab one before retiring.
