2 Decisions Thomas Tuchel May Have Gotten Wrong In Chelsea's Win Over Brentford

Chelsea got back to the top of the league table after slipping to 3rd position prior to the game against Brentford as Liverpool and Manchester City won their respective games.

Chelsea put on an impressive display but despite all that, there are 2 things Thomas Tuchel got wrong against Brentford

Chelsea retained their spot at the top of the league table through a narrow win, thanks to Ben Chilwell strike at the end of the first half.

With Liverpool win against Watford and Manchester City win against Burnley, Chelsea slipped to third position but reclaimed their position after the Brentford game.

Chelsea score line depicts the fact that Thomas Tuchel has a lot to do as it relates to Chelsea's attack as they failed to fire once again but were rescued by Ben Chilwell sublime strike at the stroke of Half time.

Brentford put on a sublime performance in the second half and were denied by Edouard Mendy and the ever impressive Chelsea defense masterfully set up by Thomas Tuchel

2 Things Thomas Tuchel Got Wrong As Chelsea Downs Brentford

Here we look at 2 things Thomas Tuchel got wrong in the win against Brentford.

1. Lukaku and Werner partnership flop again

Thomas Tuchel for the second time this season paired both strikers together but found such partnership a bit unproductive as both strikers were isolated for a very large part of the game.

This was largely due to the absence of the creative players like Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, Kai havertz and Hakim Ziyech . Hence they were unable to establish any connection against Brentford.

2.Defensive setup

Thomas Tuchel has been applauded for his defensive setup since taking over from Frank Lampard last season and much of his success so far is largely due to this.

However against Brentford, Thomas Tuchel set up Chelsea to play defensively by fielding N'golo Kante, Kovacic, Aziplicuetta but the setup backfired a bit as Brentford still able to create some dangerous chances and mounted pressure on the Chelsea team.
