Super Eagles of Nigeria left-back Zaidu Sanusi was impressive for Sergio Conceicao led Portuguese Primeira Liga Champions FC Porto on Monday night, as he guided them to an away victory against Milton Mendes' Maritimo FC in the week 20th of the Portugal Primeira Liga.
The former Santa Clara football club of Portugal defender was given another starting role by coach Sergio Conceicao, after his outstanding performance for the club in their 2-1 victory over Italian serie A Champions Juventus FC last week in the first leg of the round of 32 of the UEFA Champions League, and he was able to impress again.
Sanusi started in the away team's defence line alongside former Real Madrid star Pepe, Chancel Mbemba and Wilson Manafa, and they were all fantastic for the visitors.
Mateus Uribe opened scoring for the home team in the 14th minutes after receiving an assist from Mehdi Taremi, before Leo Andrade equalized for the host in the 18th minutes to end the first half 1-1.
Both teams tried so hard to score a winning goal in the second half, but all their efforts were not successful until the 90th minutes when Otavio scored the winner via a penalty kick, as the match ended 2-1 in favour of the visitors.
Zaidu Sanusi was outstanding for the away team in the game, and he lasted the whole duration on the pitch.
The victory over Maritimo FC at Estadio do Maritimo has now taken FC Porto to the 2nd spot in the Portuguese Primeira Liga table with 44 points from 20 matches played.
