One Manchester United Player That The Team Is Really Missing This Season

To say the least, Manchester United's performance this season has been far from impressive despite a star studded squad, they are like a pride of lions being led by a sheep in the person of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Even with the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Red Devils have struggled to grind out results and this has led many to believe that the Norwegian isn't the right captain to steer the ship to the promise land.

Today's defeat at Old Trafford was an indication that Manchester United are missing a key player especially in attack as chances went begging against Aston Villa.

See below;

Marcus Rashford

The Englishman has been out of action since the beginning of the season following a surgery he had to fix a shoulder injury weeks ago.

With Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial struggling for form, Manchester United's only potent attacking threat on the wing has been Mason Greenwood, but the youngster is only adept to the right wing. As a result of this, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been forced to deploy Paul Pogba on the left flank, but the Frenchman can only do so much in that position since he isn't a natural winger.

This is where Marcus Rashford comes in, he is currently the fastest player at Old Trafford and with his pace and scintillating skills, the Red Devils would have been more threatening going forward.

Rashford operates in a position that allows him to cut inside and strike at goal, he likes to drop deep, collect the ball and build an attack, something that Sancho has struggled with since his arrival. With the way Manchester United have fared going forward, Rashford is one player that could have made the difference today at Old Trafford. They may have an abundance of talents, but the player with a killer instinct is still missing in the attack.

Although he is back training with the squad, It is yet to be ascertain when Rashford will return to match fitness, but as it stands, his presence is desperately needed in the team.
