Thomas Tuchel's masterminded another giant-killing in the premier league yesterday by condemning Aston Villa to an heavy defeat at Stamford bridge, a result that established Chelsea as one of the title-hopeful in the premier league. However, apart from the style in which that game was won, it was the quality of performance produced at Stamford bridge that was more appealing to me as a football analyst and writer.

That being said, this piece is set to share some of the promising signs seen in yesterday's showdown that should serve as a great warning to the rest of the premier league teams especially the title contenders like Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United. Among the prominent four are explained thus;

1. Chelsea Remains Solid Defensively: Chelsea is yet to concede any goal from open play in as many match this season. In fact, the draw at Anfield last month was the only match Chelsea had failed to register a clean sheet so far. With that in mind, it is becoming more evident that Thomas Tuchel remain seriously committed to helping Chelsea sustain the defense solidarity that landed them the Champions league trophy last term.

2. Chelsea Are More Clinical in Front of Goal: Despite their European dominance, Chelsea needed a last day miracle to cement a top four finish last term, an occurrence that could only be traced to series of lackluster performances in front of goal. However, the arrival of Romelu Lukaku during the summer transfer window seems to have put an end to such anomaly as the Belgian striker have seen the back of the net on three different occasions in as many matches this season. Should that continue, Chelsea title contenders have every reason to get worried ahead of potential showdown against them.

3. Chelsea Have More Squad Depth: Despite having Reece James, Ngolo Kante, Christensen, and Christian Pulisic out of yesterday showdown, Chelsea were still able to mastermind another 'world-class' display against Aston Villa at Stamford bridge. Going forward, this plus other factors can turn out to be a great advantage that'll help Chelsea sail through the fatigue period of the season.

4. Chelsea have two unique Goalkeepers: Mendy and Kepa are two of the best goalkeepers of modern age. At open play, Mendy is a genius who can be relied upon to save Chelsea in difficult situation. For instance, when Chelsea was reduced to ten players against Liverpool, being able to make some 'first-class' saves during the opening stage of the second half helped Chelsea avoided a defeat at Anfield. In a much similar way, Mendy was helpful to keep Chelsea in the game at Stamford bridge yesterday after Saul Niguez made a string of costly errors that exposed the defense line on numerous occasions. Meanwhile, Kepa on the other hand is a fantastic goalkeeper who has amazing records in keeping out penalties, so, he will be very helpful in cup matches especially the one that will be decided by a shootout.

Conclusively, the aforementioned points are enough to serve as warning signs to the rest of league that Chelsea are very much committed to making another great exploit this season. Meanwhile, all the view expressed in this piece strictly represent my opinion as a writer. Kindly don't hesitate to drop any criticism in the section below if you have any.
