English premier league giant, Chelsea FC were in action away from home against the Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace side today at the Selhurst Park in the match day 31 of the current campaign.
The Thomas Tuchel's side were very dominant in the game as they thrashed the host with a massive four goals to one score line at full time, to bounced back from their last weekend 5-2 disappointing defeat to relegation threatened West Bromwich Albion.
Chelsea in the game netted three first half goals with Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and defender Kurt Zouma getting on the score sheet in the 8th, 10th and 30th minutes respectively to make it three nil at half time.
The host after several trials netted a consolation goal in the 63rd minutes with Christian Benteke making it 3-1, before Christian Pulisic sealed the deserved win for the German tactician's side with his brace of the game scored in the 78th minutes, to end the game four goals to one at full time.
Kurt Zouma in the game was exceptional as he has been at the top notch for the Blues this season with high scoring prowess despite been a defender.
The only goal for the France international in the game made it his 5th of the season, thereby making him to have scored more goals than any other premier league defender this season.
Most goals scored by a defender in the Premier League this season:
☉ Kurt Zouma (5)
☉ John Stones (4)
☉ Lewis Dunk (4)
With this, Kurt Zouma has now scored four headed goals out of his five goals scored for Chelsea this season, making him joined the likes of Edinson Cavani of Manchester United and Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur as the 2nd joint-most, as the only EPL player to have more is Everton's Dominic Calvert Lewin (6).
As such, he has now made the list of Chelsea's centre-backs to have scored 5+ premier league goals in a single campaign.
The massive convincing win for Chelsea has now taken them back to the 4th spot on the EPL table with 54 points in 31 games played, and as such be hoping to keep the pace going with few games left to cement their spot in battle for the top four race.
