Only one game went down in the premier league today as Southampton travelled to face Everton at Goodison Park. The English side tutored by Brendon Rodgers were seen as the favourite to grab all three points due to their recent fine form in the competition.
Match Summary
The game came alive in the 9th minute as Richarlison made great use of Gylfi Sigurdsson's pass to send a lovely effort into the back of Southampton's net giving Everton the 1-0 lead.
The Toffees doubled their lead in the 26th minute of the game but Michael Keane's goal didn't stand as it was ruled out for offside. Southampton couldn't in any way affect the scoreline as Everton held their 1-0 lead into the half-time break courtesy of Richarlison's early goal.
The second half was dull from both sides as they failed to get on the scoresheet. Southampton couldn't attempt a shot on goal in the whole game as Richarlison's 9th-minute effort was enough to give Everton their 2nd straight win in the premier league.
The EPL Table After Southampton Lost 1-0 To Everton.
