Going into the game, Barcelona needed to a win against Osasuna while being hopeful that Madrid droo points against Villarreal.
But that wasn't the case as two goals from Karim Benzema ensured Real Madrid defeated Villarreal and Barca went ahead to loose to ten men Osasuna 2-1 at the Camp Nou.
The result meant that Real Madrid were crowned Champions with a seven points gap with a game left to play.
This weekend Barca travel away to face Alaves. The game which is expected to go down on Sunday will kick off at 4pm GMT.
Barca coach, Quique Setién who has come under massive criticisms has drafted a 16 man squad for the away trip.
It's understood that Gerrard Pique and Ivan Rakitic are suspended while Antoine Griezmann remains out due to injury.
