Israel Adesanya and 2 Other Nigerian Wrestlers Who Are Dominating The Wrestling Industry

Nigeria is considered to be one of the most popular countries in West Africa, also called the African giant because of its large population and economy, Nigerians are seen in every industry, ranging from entertainment, music, comedy, and also wrestling.

In today's article, we will be looking at four Nigerians who are currently domination the wrestling industry:

1. Israel Adesanya (UFC): Israel Adesanya popularly known as the “Last Style bender” because of his unusual fighting style and free-flowing skills, is the current UFC Middleweight Champion. He was born on 22nd July 1989 in Lagos, Nigeria but moved to Auckland, New Zealand at the age of 21 to practice kick-boxing. In December 2017, Isreal Adesanya made his professional appearance at the UFC where he defeated Rob Wilkinson; he also went on to defeat some of the top UFC fighters such as Kevin Gastelum, Derek Brunson, and Tavares; he has an unbeaten 18-0 winning streak in MMA; Israel Adesanya is often regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time.

2. Usman Kamarudeen (UFC): The "Nigerian Nightmare" Usman Kamaru Is the current Welterweight UFC Champion and one of the best and up-rising UFC Fighter, he was born on May 11, 1987, in Auchi, Edo State, Nigeria. His father moved them to the USA where he worked as a pharmacist and Kamaru was only 8 years old at the time, he first appeared in MMA in November 2012. In 2019, Usman Kamaru became the first-ever African-born athlete to win a World Title in the Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC).

3. Apollo Crews (WWE): Sesugh Uhaa professional known as Apollo Crews is the current WWE Intercontinental champion under the brand name SmackDown. He was born in Benue State, Nigeria on August 22nd, 1987; he started wrestling in 2009, and on January 29, 2017, he made his professional debut at the WWE Royal Rumble, where he was eliminated by Luke Harper. He is a one-time United States Champion, one-time (currently) Intercontinental Champion, and also a one-time heavyweight champion. He also participated in WWE Wrestle Mania where he defeated Big E and retained the Intercontinental Championship Title.
