But after their Manchester City and Juventus matches losses consecutively the blues have now realized there's actually something wrong. There is lack of creativity from the midfielders and wingers and this is a huge problem for the team.
There are some regular match starters in the Chelsea team that should be substitutes except for less crucial matches. For starters Marcos Alonso has been a regular player since the beginning of this season and that is turning out to backfire in the recent results.
The Wing back is excellent for his free kick abilities and also his ability to take shots from inside and outside the box is also good but he is defensively poor and athletically lazy with a very poor speed. Ben Chilwell should start instead because he is physically strong, fast and a better defender, he is also good at taking shots and crossing the ball the only this Alonso is better at is free kick taking but that is not basically a defenders duty.
Chilwell is also comfortable on both feet but Alonso can't basically do anything with is right foot.
Another case is Jorginho, his ability as a midfielder has quite a number of doubts both defensively and creatively. He makes so many errors and losses the ball easily, he also finds it hard to create chances. Ruben Loftus-Cheek should be starting instead, he is very talented athletic and takes shot from outside the box. He is also a good aerial threat and a good dribbler and very creative he should always play alongside Ngolo Kante.
Kai Haverts has also been an under performer for the past five matches, but with pulisic and mount injured there's hardly any other option. But Mount, werner and Pulisic should be preferable options before him because he really needs to step up his game.
Many will say The Chelsea Coach Thomas Tuchel has a thing against English players, well we don't know but we hope he tries to adjust this for the match against Southampton.
